Theft
Theft is the most common warehouse security problem. It comes in two main forms:
- External theft: Criminals often break in at night or during holidays when no one is around. They may get in through weak doors or hidden areas without cameras.
- Internal theft: Sadly, employee theft is also common. Staff may steal items or change inventory records without being noticed. Over time, this can cause serious losses.
Unauthorized Access
Warehouses have a lot of foot traffic. Workers, contractors, and delivery drivers come and go every day. Without clear access rules, it’s easy for someone to enter areas they shouldn’t. This can lead to theft, safety risks, or equipment damage.
Property Damage
Some threats are not about stealing. Vandalism, accidental damage, or sabotage can also cost a lot. A broken door or smashed window can leave the warehouse exposed to more serious problems.
